"life measure"
Life is measured by the noblest deeds, not by the sweetest years
There was a man named Thomas who lived a long and comfortable life.
He had everything he could ever want, but despite his many
blessings, he never felt true satisfaction.
One day, Thomas met an old sage who asked him about his life.
Thomas told the Elders about his empty feelings, and the Elders
listened with interest.
Then the wise man said: "Life is measured by the honor of work, not
by the most beautiful years."
Thomas was surprised by the wise words and realized that he was
measuring his life by the wrong things.
Al-Hakim continued, "A life filled with noble deeds, with kindness,
compassion and selflessness, is the life lived well. These deeds
have a lasting effect and will be remembered long after the sweetest
of years."
Thomas decided he wanted to make a change.
He began volunteering at a local homeless shelter, donating money
to those in need, and spending time with the elderly.
At a glance, Thomas felt a sense of accomplishment and purpose that
he had never experienced before.
He was finally making a difference in the world, and his life was
filled with joy and meaning.
From that day on, Thomas never forgot that life was measured by
the noblest deeds.
He realized that it was not about the length of his life or the
comforts he enjoyed, but rather the impact he had on the world and
the lives of others.
